Jersey is an island in the just off the coast of France in the English channel. Together with Guernsey, Alderney and Sark (way to ruin the naming scheme!), these islands make up the British-owned but autonomous Channel Islands
In Jersey, stunning beaches with azure-blue waters are dotted between rugged coastal cliffs. Cute little villages - not quite English, not Quite French - cover the island. Steep, forested hills blanket the interior that hide long-forgotten medieval secrets, or evidence of the Jersey resistance from world war II.
And then there are the famous Jersey cows!
Jersey is a part of Britain that is not even thought of so much by the British. This is a shame because there is so much interesting history and so many beautiful place packed onto a tiny island, conveniently navigable end-to-end by bicycle in little over 1 hour
