Luxembourg

Bridge over the Petrusse valley

Sandwiched between the German, French and Dutch-speaking worlds, Luxembourg (or Lëtzebuerg in the local language!) is a small country in the heart of Europe with some big stories to tell. You could say its the miniwurm of countries!

The mix of cultures in this tiny country is not just informed by its French, German and Belgium neighbours, but also by immigration from Italy in the 19th century and, more recently in the 20th and 21st centuries, by immigration from Portugal. This gives the country's towns and cities a uniquely European, but cosmopolitan feeling.

Luxembourg is defined fascinating history, complete with medieval castles, plenty of nature in the form of sculpted rock formations or one of its many lakes and rivers, and a love of food, wine and festivals.
