Road trip to France!

What's better than a going on a trip? Going on a road trip! And what's better than just any road trip? A road trip to France, of course! The freedom to explore on your own terms and time, with no 'end of the line' and no transit schedules to worry about. This year, instead of flying somewhere, my humans are chauffeuring me to France!

Our Route! What do you think?

Our adventure will take us on this route to the Atlantic coast. The plan is to head via Luxembourg and into France's Grand Est region. We'll stop in the difficult-to-pronounce Troyes, visiting Nigloland, where I'm hoping my mini size will get me in for free! From there, we head west and following a northernly route along the river Loire to the towns of Blois, Saumur and Angers.

Next, to the Atlantic! We'll turn south from Angers and head along the coast, visiting the Île de Ré, near La Rochelle, checking out how some of the finest sea salt (Fleur de Sel) is made in the traditional way! Afterwards, it's wine time! From La Rochelle, we'll pass into Nouvelle Aquitaine through Bordeaux, Archachon (a spot of diving), Moliets-et-maa (Surfing) and into the Basque country (Fooding!).

After a few days' adventuring, surfing, kayaking, munching and trying the finest of French wines, we'll start the return journey. But not the same way, oh no! We're going back via the French big-sky country, Auvergne, in a more southerly route. Plan is to go hiking (i'll be in the backpack) amongst the dramatic, dormant volcanoes and rolling green highlands of the Massif Central and checking out the Lascaus Cave Paintings, which are estimated to be some 17,000-20,000 years old!.

Our final stop on our homeward journey will take us into the historical Burgundy region, hope to our last stop: Dijon. Dijon, of course, is the birthplace of the only thing in the universe that is as spicy and yellow as I am, the famous Dijon Mustard!
