Day 1: Wiesbaden to Luxembourg
...and we're off!
Today begins the MiniWurm's big roadtrip adventure to France, in search of some Sun on the Atlantic Coast.
Our first stop on the journey is the small, but very pretty town of Vianden on the Germany-Luxembourg border. Vianden is famous for its castle, which was rated as one of the world's most beautiful by CNN.
Unfortunately the weather wasn't the greatest, with the Moselle region being hit by heavy rain, but we are not deterred! In this weather, with the fog rolling off the forested hills, the castle also takes on a kind of haunting beauty.
Vianden is also famous for the nëssmoort, a festival in to celebrate the walnut harvest in the fall. You can get nuts to eat, nut butter, nut liquor, nut soap, everything goes nuts in this small Luxembourg town!
Next stop was Luxembourg City, which I've written about before, but is always nice to stop by and visit.
Tomorrow we will actually take our first steps into France, heading towards Troyes (it doesn't sound how you think it's pronounced), in the champagne region of France. I think I see some bubbles in our near future!
